When a received GPS signal suffers from multipath, errors in the position and navigation calculations will be made. A way to detect multipath is to compare the shape of the received correlation pulse with the shape of a reference pulse. This method is known as the curve estimation method, developed by de Vos [1]. By calculating the signal-to-multipath ratio (SMR) from -1.5 Tc to 0.5 Tc, we get an indication of the deformation of the shape of the received correlation pulse.
