The Tuamotu Archipelago has been the subject for these last years of important ethno-archaeological investigations. Within specific environment and soils, the islanders have developed through time and space techniques in subsistence economy by digging cultivation pits sometimes quite huge and by continuous production of artificial vegetal mould.
