Strut-and-tie modeling is one of the common models used in the analysis of reinforced concrete structure behaviours. Over the years, many researchers have modified and made the simple model, initially proposed by Marti and Schlaich, more specific for each type of structure. This paper covers an analysis of one such model proposed by Hwang and Lee (2000). Based on a previous softened strut-and –tie model developed by them to determine the shear strengths of exterior beam-column joints, this model has been modified to predict that of an interior beam-column joint. Apart from an analysis of how the model was derived, the author wrote an algorithm using Excel program in order to run the model based on parameters from a design of an interior...
