Rural unemployment, perceived trough disguised agricultural unemployment and women inactivity has been a usual economic concept before the 1974 out break. With the increase of unemployment it has been considered as inappropriate. However, it remains specific and less flexible even if its geography is not very different from what is observed for the french territory as a whole.
