Split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) experimental testing method can be categories into compression, tension and torsion. SHPB testing is used to investigate the mechanical property of different material under high strain rate at compression, tension or torsion condition. Tensile SHPB test is to investigate the response of dynamic stress and strain for different materials under high strain rate condition from 1000s-1 to 10000s-1. The theory is based on the longitudinal pressure wave propagation along the elastic stainless steel bars.
