Fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) has been widely used for strengthening RC structures over the years and are recently being developed as an effective way of retrofitting concrete structures for high energy events such as impact and blast. Although extensive research has been conducted on static bond behavior, the bond-slip mechanics under high strain rates are not well understood yet. This project presents an investigation into the bond behaviour between FRP and concrete under high slip rates. With the use of finite element (FE) modelling, high slip rates are employed to simulate a dynamic loading scenario and the effect on bond behaviour was studied in this project.
