Embedded real time systems are getting more complex over the years. Safety critical industries such as automotive and aviation uses a large amount of such systems, resulting in a major part of their expenses. Hence, there is an increased interest in trying to fit functionalities of different criticalities into one system. This brings several benefits, such as reduced size, weight and cost.
