An indirect vector controller suitable for induction motor is investigated and implemented using the Intel 80C196MC processor. The control system generates sinusoidal waveforms using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). This PWM signal is obtained from the vector controller based on information from sensors, such as three phase currents from hall sensors, and one rotor speed from an optical encoder. The controller is operated in response to the speed references, which include step speed reference commands at the starting, and reversal speed reference commands at the running.
