This project aimed to study the bending contact response and failure behaviors of composite sandwich panel made from Nomex honeycomb core and face sheets fabricated with L-530 solution coated epoxy prepreg on HexForce TM 120 fiber glass fabric. This project involved the fabrication of the composite sandwich panel specimens. Honeycomb cores of core cell size 3 mm with various core thicknesses were investigated. Then, behaviors of sandwich panels under drop weight impact test and quasi-static indentation tests were studied. Tensile test was also conducted on face sheet to find out the properties of glass fiber face sheet consisting of 20 layers of prepregs. Indentation test involved testing of specimen both on test rig and on flat table top. ...
