41 p.The Bali Bombing in Indonesia which occurred on 12 October 2002 marked the first time that suicide terrorism, a phenomenon commonly found in Middle East, had come to Southeast Asia. Like the earlier incident, the subsequent suicide bombings at J. W. Marriott Hotel, Australia embassy and the triple bombings of restaurants in Kuta were all carried out by young indigenous Indonesians, aged between 23 years to 28 years, who had a bright future ahead. The problem if not curtailed might be transposed to Singapore and other countries in Southeast Asia.
