Traffic simulations are usually used in traffic management and hence, highly dependent on how realistic the simulated traffic flows are, which affects the reliability of using the simulation to manage actual traffic networks. Accurate statistical data are usually available from the authorities’ websites, but open-source data have also become increasingly popular for the advantage of public inspection.
