Diabetes Mellitus has affected Singaporeans at an alarming rate in recent times, particularly Singaporean minorities. The emphasis in Singaporean society today has been on leading an active lifestyle and adopting a healthier diet. This research aims to highlight the ethniccultural factor that affect minorities’ food lifestyles. Subsequently, it will reveal the difficulties diabetics face in adopting a healthier food lifestyle. The findings in this research will also reveal the social complexity behind the medical condition of Diabetes Mellitus and will help expand the scope of understanding a medical condition from a sociological standpoint.Bachelor of Art
