Additive manufacturing, also known as 3-Dimensional (3D) printing, is a manufacturing technique that is gaining popularity over the years. In the Aerospace industry, the usage of 3D printing is able to achieve light weight, cost, and process efficiency. This report compares the differences and cost analysis between 3D printing and traditional manufacturing methods used in the Aerospace industry. A bracket is designed and used for analysis in this report. Using the bracket as a case study, design improvements through topology optimization was carried out to further emphasize the benefits of 3D printing in the Aerospace industry.Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering
