This thesis describes our attempts towards the development of new methodologies for the synthesis of heterocyclic functionalized isoxazolidines, isoxazoles and [1,2,4] triazolopiperazines. It contains two parts and the first part describes an stereoselective synthesis of heterocyclic isoxazolidines, isoxazoles. The second part describe an alternative route to the synthesis of [1,2,4]triazolopiperazines which may have potential application in the pharmaceutical industry.Doctor of Philosophy (SPMS
