Purpose: Obesity is a growing issue worldwide, especially in adolescents. It is crucial for actions to be taken earlier in life as it is a risk factor for harmful diseases. Hence, the purpose of this study is to investigate the obstacles faced and strategies used by formerly overweight adolescents to transition to a healthier and more physically active lifestyle. It is also hypothesized that autonomous types of motivation rather than controlled were adopted during this period of change.
