This is a Final Year Project; Develop a high-efficiency direct-drive machine for electric vehicles (EVs). With the elimination of mechanical gearboxes, the emerging direct-drive vernier machines have been attracting attention in EV applications, offering high power/torque densities, robust structure, and maintenance-free operation. However, there exist abundant magnetic field harmonics in vernier machines due to the special working principle, which will induce excessive losses and deteriorate efficiency.
