In this thesis, the performance of real-time scheduling schemes for Video-On-Demand (VOD) servers is studied. The goal is to provide continuous playback concurrently to as many users as possible, and reduce the amount of buffer required at the same time. The study is divided into two parts: 1. the scheduling of Constant Bit Rate (CBR) streams (called homogeneous environment), and 2. the scheduling of Variable Bit Rate (VBR) streams, (heterogeneous environment).Master of Applied Scienc
