This final year project deals with the free vibration analysis of thin-walled cylinder tube and thin-walled cylindrical tanks by utilising the Finite Element Analysis software, ANSYS Mechanical APDL version 19.2. In the initial phase, the convergence test is conducted to determine the optimal mesh density which will yield convergence results yet requires minimal computation time. Subsequently, the different modes of vibration are analysed to filter out the ones with similar mode shape or modal frequency and then shortlisted to gather more comprehensive and consistent data tables.
