The report describes the development of an intelligent power supply for a photomultiplier tube (PMT), which is a device used to detect and amplify weak optical signals. The power supply features three outputs, positive and negative 5V signals and a control voltage, which is used to adjust the signal amplification of the PMT. Serial communication is utilized to send commands to control the control voltage. This report includes a detailed explanation of the power supply circuit design, as well as a discussion of how the power supply protects the PMT from harsh lightings. Additionally, this report covers the testing and simulation process and provides the results of the circuit’s performance. Overall, the developed intelligent p...
