A management control system that is compatible with the strategies and objectives of an organisation has been viewed as one of the underlying factors crucial for the success of any organisation. Many academics have researched the design of Management Control System (MCS) pertaining to multinational companies in countries such as the UK, USA and Japan. However, up till now, there are little studies made with respect to the design of MCS in the Singapore context. Hence, this provides the motivation for the conduct of this research.
