This project is about water treatment through coagulation and water quality analysis. Ceramic membranes have been widely applied for water treatment. However, there has been a lack of focus on the optimization of the pre-treatment processes. Thus, the purpose of this project was to develop a clear understanding of the mechanisms that govern the water treatment effectiveness with ceramic membrane filtration system, particularly on pre-treatment. Jar test experiments were conducted to determine the optimal coagulant dosage, pH, and ozone demand for the different coagulants and reservoir water.
