In recent years, researchers have grown an interest in studying crystalline chalcogenides due to the multifunctional properties that they possess that could potentially be used for various useful applications. In this report, multiple synthesis methods of chalcogenides, such as hydrazine-hydrothermal method, surfactant-thermal process and solution process studied by researchers will be discussed. In addition, some beneficial uses of chalcogenides in various fields explored by researchers will also be touched on. The experimental experience of the author will be described in the subsequent sections, which include the materials and methodology adopted.
