This project focuses on studying the Malay Islamic motifs and patterns which can be found in everyday objects such as textiles, utensils, houses, weaponry and etc. The concept of traditional Malay Islamic decoration does not only act as an ornamentation nor symbol. In fact, it is functional. (Jamal, A., 1994). The purpose of this research is to integrate the essential essence, significance, meaning, characteristic and structural form of the Malay Islamic motifs and patterns to be translate this integration to functional and meaningful product.
