Energy management using smart devices

With the global energy crisis at its tipping point, it is crucial to introduce changes into the lifestyles of the Earth’s population. Other than utilizing sustainable and renewable energy sources, it is also important offer alternatives to better maximize the usage of energy. This project attempts to improve and minimize the total power consumption of homes through the use of smart phone application to provide the real-time power consumption of the users’ homes. By providing real-time energy consumption, this project will be able to demonstrate how the application is able to better inform users of their use of electric energy. Thus, from there, possible solutions will be provided and actions can be taken to conserve and maximize the energy efficiency.
