With the rising demand of global, compact and feature-rich mobile phones, antenna designers have to come out with an antenna design that is small in size and able to cover multi-bands without compromising the performance of the mobile phone. There are many types of mobile phone antenna such as the dipole, monopole, whip and helical antenna but the most commonly used antenna today is known as Planar Inverted-F Antenna (PIFA). The antenna performance is affected by many parameters and through these parameters; a characterization of PIFA is done by using SEMCAD X simulation software to demonstrate the effect of it.
