The stratigraphic and morpho-sedimentary study of the coastal dune systems of the Western-Chtouka, clarified at once by the comparative analysis of the current dune system and by absolute C14 dating, has allowed the successive deposition phases of the ancient dune systems, since the Lower Soltaman, to be establish. The Western-Chtouka coast shows a succession of seven coastal dune systems separated by discontinuities, extending from the Lower Soltanian to the present.
