Composite nanofibers have been of growing interest in various areas of science and engineering. They are intriguing due to tailorable properties by composition and/or the processing methods. Composite nanofibers can be produced from polymer solutions and suspensions with non-polymeric phases for multi-functionality. Material/processing development and materials characterisation aspects of this class of materials have great potential for novelty as also sought in this dissertation. Among the various manufacturing methods, electrospinning is a versatile and established technique as also intensively used in this dissertation. Properties of the electrospun composite nanofibers can be modified by manipulation of the polymer chemistry and hybridi...
