Background: Incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD) is skin damage that occurs from repeated exposure to urine and/or feces. Research has shown that this condition can have significant implications for clients and the healthcare system (Beeckman, 2016). Informal discussions with a wound care consultant identified that the Central Health Authority in Newfoundland and Labrador does not have a dedicated educational resource for nursing staff related to the prevention and management of IAD.
