Abstract The site of "Roynac-le Serre " represents a major sedimentary and cultural sequence for the Rhône valley, between the Early Neolithic and the end of the Early Bronze Age. Four levels of pedogenesis correspond to stabilisation phases of the regional landscape. The site was occupied several times during the second half of the third millennium ВС. Two may be attributed to the end of the Bell Beaker Culture and others to various moments of a precocious phase of the Early Bronze Age (BrAl). A large building corresponds to the second Beaker occupation when the Early Bronze Age settlement began to adopt an " urbanising " type of architecture.
