Aegyptiaca et Isiaca de la Phénicie et du Liban aux époques hellénistique et romaine

jJl _ ÂJlJjJl ÂiUiM jLxpU 7It is an established fact that the cultural exchanges between Phoenicia and Egypt date back long before the Macedonian conquest of the Near East. Yet the study of the Phoenician and Lebanese monuments and cults also proves that the elements which were borrowed to the Egyptian religion in the area came through the Graeco-Roman culture during the Early Roman period. First, the hellenized cults of the major Egyptian deities may have been worshipped by private individuals in the Phoenician coastal cities ; then, they would have been officially admitted in the local pantheons of Byblus, Tyre, and Abila of Lysanias. The spread of the Egyptian cults in Phoenicia and in Lebanon seems to fit in with the pagan religious trends of the Roman empire during the second and the third centuries.Si les phénomènes d'acculturation entre la Phénicie et l'Egypte sont attestés dès avant la conquête macédonienne du Proche-Orient, l'analyse des monuments égyptisants et des cultes isiaques de la Phénicie et du Liban permet de considérer la culture gréco-romaine comme le vecteur privilégié des emprunts religieux à l'Egypte sous le Haut-Empire. Les cultes hellénisés des grandes divinités égyptiennes ont pu être importés par des particuliers dans les cités côtières phéniciennes avant d'être officiellement intégrés dans les panthéons locaux de Byblos, de Tyr et d'Abila de Lysanias. La diffusion des cultes isiaques en Phénicie et au Liban paraît ainsi correspondre à l'évolution générale des religions païennes dans l'Empire romain des IIe et IIIe siècles.Aliquot Julien.
