Cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL) is a hereditary small artery vasculopathy caused by mutations in the NOTCH3 gene on chromosome 19. Jeju Island has the highest reported prevalence of CADASIL patients in the world.
