Abstract Presenteeism can have negative impacts on employees’ health and organizational productivity. It occurs more often among occupations with high attendance demands, such as healthcare professionals. Information is lacking regarding the extent to which presenteeism differs between disciplines and settings in the health sector and what the reasons are for presenteeism as well as influencing factors.
