This paper addresses cultural issues in Software Quality Management and reports on qualitative and quantitative research carried out in five European countries. As a result of the findings the C.HI.D.DI. (Clan, Hierarchical, Democratic, Disciplined) typology was developed as a self or independent evaluation model. In the era of globalisation organizations developing software in different countries and with culturally diverse workforce need to cater for this diversity to ensure success of software and software projects. The typology has been used in multinational companies (in Greece, UK, Denmark, USA, Germany and Finland)
