Reconstruction du paysage et de l'empreinte humaine en Suisse Centrale (OW-NW) au Tardiglaciaire würmien et à l'Holocène

Four pollen profiles from three different localities in Central Switzerland (fig. 1) were studied. The profiles of Obwalden and Nidwalden permit the reconstruction of the vegetation of the Wiirm late glacial and Holocene. Fourteen C-14 measurements define the development of the vegetation. At Obbürgen this development can be traced from the oldest Dryas (~ 13500 BP) untill to the Subboreal (~ 3500 BP) and at Merlialp and at Gerzensee from the Subboreal untill the Subatlantic. The oldest Dryas is illustrated by a steppic flora (Artemisia, Helianthemum : - 13500 - 12500 BP), the Bolling by bush (Hippophâe, Betula ; (~ 12500 - 11600 BP) and the Allerod by a forest (Pinus, Betula : 11600 - 10300 BP). Three phases of a steppic flora characterise the youngest Dryas (10300 - 9800 BP). During the Preboreal (9750 BP) the Quercetum mixtum and Corylus immigrate and at the Boreal they expand (climatic optimum : 8100 BP). During the Atlantic, Abies immigrate at about 7800 BP, then Picea and Fagus at about 6800 BP. During the Subboreal the Quercetum mixtum, Abies and Picea retreat whereas Alnus and Fagus expand. At the old Subatlantic Picea and Fagus prevail, at the young Subatlantic the forest retreats and the cultures develop. The beginning of one culture phase (Cerealia, Cannabis-Humulus, Juglans) is dated 1055 BP at the Merlialp; at Gerzensee the same phase is dated 1045 BP. At Gerzensee the phase of Juglans is dated about 800 BP. At Obbürgen another culture phase seems to have existed during the middle of the Bronze age (post 3500 BP), but actually this cannot be confirmed.4 profils polliniques provenant de trois localités de Suisse centrale : Obwalden (OW) et Nidwalden (NW) permettent de reconstituer le paysage au Tardiglaciaire wiirmien et à l'Holocène. 14 mesures de C-14 précisent les étapes de la végétation. Le Dryas ancien inférieur est illustré par une flore steppique (.Artemisia, Helianthemum : - 13500 - 12500 BP), le Bölling par les arbustes (Hippophâe, Betula : (- 12500 - 11600 BP) et l'Alleröd par une forêt (Pinus, Betula : 11600 - 10300 BP). Trois phases d'extension d'une flore steppique caractérisent le Dryas récent (9800 - 10300 BP). Le Préboréal (9750 BP) comprend l'immigration du Quercetum mixtum et de Corylus et le Boréal leur expansion (optimum climatique : 8100 BP). Durant l'Atlantique Abies immigre vers 7800 BP puis Picea et Fagus vers 6800 BP. Au Subboréal le Quercetum mixtum, Abies et Picea reculent tandis que Alnus et Fagus s'étendent. Au Subatlantique ancien dominent Picea et Fagus, au Subatlantique récent la forêt recule et les cultures se développent. Le début d'une phase de culture (Cerealia, Cannabis-Humulus, Juglans) est datée de 1055 BP à la Merlialp; au Gerzensee cette même phase (Cerealia) est datée de 1045 BP et celle de Juglans d'environ 800 BP. Une autre phase de culture semble avoir existé vers le milieu de l'âge du Bronze en Obbürgen (postérieure à 3500 BP), elle ne peut toutefois pas encore être certifiée.Sidler Catherine.
