It has been possible to precise the occupation of the lake Geneva basin, by the Rhône glacier during the Wurm, thanks to the hydrogeological borings and prospections carried out on the mineral water Evian basin, situated on the south bank of the lake. Under the lithology of the crossed grounds, the I4C datings and the hydrogeological evidence (such as continuity and chemistry of the aquifers) the recent glacial history is thus reconstituted : — An ancient moraine attributed to the Riss, is preserved in the molassic furrows of a fossil drainage pattern, facing West-East, contrary to the present one.
