1. Six dominant mosaic eye-color mutants of the brown locus (II - 104.3) have been studied. All are over lethal when homozygous. The homozygotes are characterized by non-mosaic eye-color, and by wing abnormalities. These allelomorphs affect principally the yellow pigment of the eye, reducing or removing it entirely. 2. Four of these six are associated with mutual translocations; two with inversions only. In each case one of the breaks is at or very close to the locus concerned. 3. Flies have been obtained retaining the mutual translocation, but with normal eye-color. 4. One dominant allelomorph (Grape) of the mutant pink (III - 48.0) has been studied.
