Both Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and cocaine use have been associated with impairment in neuropsychological functioning. The high comorbidity between HIV and cocaine use highlights the importance of ascertaining whether there is a compounding effect of cocaine use in individuals with HIV.
