Background & aimsThe mechanisms by which macrophages regulate intestinal epithelial cell (IEC) barrier properties are poorly understood. Protein tyrosine phosphatase non-receptor type 2 (PTPN2) protects the IEC barrier from inflammation-induced disruption and regulates macrophage functions.
