Introduction: Over 1 billion humans carry infectious helminth parasites that can lead to chronic comorbidities such as anemia and growth retardation in children. Helminths induce a T-helper type 2 (Th2) immune response in the host and can cause severe tissue damage and fibrosis if chronic.
