BackgroundIn the POST SCD study, the authors autopsied all World Health Organization (WHO)-defined sudden cardiac deaths (SCDs) and found that only 56% had an arrhythmic cause; resuscitated sudden cardiac arrests (SCAs) were excluded because they did not die suddenly.
