Quelques stéréotypes cosmologiques d'origine pythagoricienne chez les penseurs musulmans au Moyen Âge (I)

About some Pythagorean cosmological stereotypes in the systems of Muslim thinkers at the Middle Ages Among the Pythagorean stereotypes that made their way to Muslim thinkers, two topics are of special note. The first has to do with the subtle nature of the celestial bodies and their intelligence, the second with the postulate of the pre-existence of souls and a number of its direct consequences, such as the fall, metempsychosis, the return to celestial origine and apocatastasis. These questions arise with philosophers such as al-Kindî, al-Râzî and al-Farâbî (first part of this article) as well as with mystics (second part of this article). Whereas the philosophers had access to translations of the Greek texts, however, the mystics encountered these thought processes through intermediary teachings, inspired mainly by the works of Origen and Evagre.Parmi les stéréotypes issus du pythagorisme et transmis aux penseurs musulmans, deux thèmes peuvent être retenus. Le premier concerne la nature subtile des corps célestes et leur intelligence, le second le postulat de la préexistence des âmes et plusieurs de ses conséquences directes comme la chute, la métempsychose, la remontée vers l'origine céleste et l'apocatastase. On trouve ces questions aussi bien chez des philosophes comme al-Kindî, al-Râzî ou al-Farâbî (présentés dans la première partie de cet article), que chez des mystiques (étudiés dans la seconde partie). Toutefois, si les premiers ont eu accès aux traductions des textes grecs, les seconds ont rencontré ces modes de pensée à travers des enseignements intermédiaires, inspirés pour la plupart des œuvres d'Origène ou d'Évagre le Pontique.Gobillot Geneviève.
