Muslims and the Word of God The aim of this article, a prelude to interdisciplinary dialogue, is merely to forestall possible misconceptions. The Koran is of course a « Book » like the Bible. Yet for Muslims, this word does not have the same meaning as it does for Christians. A brief outline of the main established facts about the nature and function of the Koran is therefore requisite, together with an account of its transmission and interpretation.
