Religious dissent in Russia in modem and contemporary times The special issue of the "Revue des Études slaves" (t. 79. 1-2, 1997), under the title "Old-Believers and Russian sects from XVIIth c. till today", introduces us to several aspects of three centuries of religious dissent in Russia. It testifies to a revival of interest in the history of Churches and Faith in Russia and to a new opening of Russian scholars, freed from marxist apriorisms, onto the history of "mentalités".
