The valleys of Lucania and eastern Sicily own recent alluvial fills. A main terrace took place during Antiquity. In Lucania a holocene deposit lies under the historic layer, and in Sicily, strips of a higher terrace are of the same age. The historic terraces don't result entirely of devegetation and agriculture during greek times, according to a bio-rhexistasic pattern induced by man.
