Trade in 1986 : on the whole good results - In 1986, retail trade, not including food sales, was the principal beneficiary of the consumption recovery. Turnover in constant prices increased by 2.6 %. Outside of drugstores, the figure had not grown since 1982. Hypermarkets remained the commercial configuration with the best performance. Their sales increased by more than 1 0 % in volume, placing them far in front of their competitors.
