Preparatory road making operations for the A 16 motorway have revealed an Acheulean and two early middle paleolithic levels. Excavations have provided satisfactory chronostratigraphic data. The varied Acheulean (270 000 - 350 000 BP) artefacts had been cut in situ. The two middle paleolithic levels, which can be dated from the second half of the Saalian period, evidence production of splinters via several cutting techniques.
