French industry facing exchange rate contraints - In spite of the general impression of chaos, the fluctuations of various national currencies express an underlying reality — a basic questioning of the structures of growth in the post-war period and the institutional forms this growth has taken. In this context, the way in which countries adapt to the constraints of exchange rates is dependent on specific structural characteristics. Their adaptation shows their capacity to play a controlling role in the development of the new economic product lines that are taking shape.
