Wages' evolution in 1975 -Taking into account the reduction of hours of work, workers' wages have, on the average, increased in 12,1 % in one year (October 1974 to October 1975); according to INSEE's consumer's price index, this corresponds to an increase of the purchasing power of weekly earnings amounting to 1,7% over the same period. Contrary to the previous year, during which inflation had pressed heavily upon real earning's increase, the important reduction of hours of work explains the lesser progression of the purchasing power of workers' weekly earnings in 1975.
