Labour costs in the french industry (1966-1969) by Gaston Banderier Two surveys were carried out in 1966 and 1969 in order to measure labour costs in industry of the six countries of the Common Market. The results for France presented here, give the average cost in each branch of activity for manual workers and other wage-earners and the breakdown of that cost into its different components : direct wages, social security contributions, benefits in kind, other costs. The increase of these costs between 1966 and 1969 is very different the different branches, in especially as to the hourly cost per worker.
