Introduction: the use of heroin or opioid substitution treatment during pregnancy is a public health issue. Perinatal health professionals try to improve mother and child’s health conditions. Midwife can play an important role, maybe central, in this support.Study design: a qualitative, descriptive and interpretative study was carried out. During seven interviews, the objective was to describe the management by midwife of pregnant women who takes heroin or opioid substitution treatment.Results: in order to build a high-quality relationship between patients and caregivers, midwives give some support, are considerate and have no trial.
